In a significant humanitarian effort, the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, in partnership with Albasar International Foundation, has successfully restored the sight of hundreds of visually impaired individuals in Bauchi State. The free eye treatment campaign, held at the Makka Specialist Hospital, provided critical ophthalmic care to over 300+ beneficiaries, offering a new lease on life to those suffering from preventable blindness.

The initiative saw a dedicated team of ophthalmologists and medical personnel conduct comprehensive free eye screenings, perform vital cataract surgeries, and distribute medicated glasses to patients from all walks of life. The beneficiaries included elderly men and women, children, and persons with disabilities, all of whom received these essential services at no cost.

To ensure sustained care, the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation established a closed-ended retainership account with Albasar International Foundation's Makka Specialist Hospital. This strategic partnership allows continuous access to free eye medication and drugs for patients identified through the foundation's programs.

"Vision is a priceless gift, and no one should suffer from preventable blindness due to lack of access to healthcare. Through this program, we aim to give people a second chance to see clearly and live more productive lives."
– Barr. Umar Magaji, Legal Officer, Wunti Al-Khair Foundation

The profound impact of the campaign was vividly embodied in the story of 65-year-old Malam Haruna Adamu. After being visually impaired for three years due to cataracts, he successfully regained his sight following surgery. Overwhelmed with joy, Malam Haruna shared:

“I never thought I would see again. Today, I can recognize my family and move around without help. Allah ya ja zaman Wunti Al-Khair Foundation!

Reaffirming its commitment to serving the underprivileged, the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has pledged to expand this life-changing medical outreach to other states, continuing its vital mission to alleviate suffering and improve the quality of life for Nigerians.
